Drug Discovery and Development

Please join us for an intensive 2-day workshop led by Dr. Terry Kenakin that will cover key concepts in drug discovery through specific examples of candidate molecule progression in drug discovery and development programs. Dr. Kenakin will also discuss career opportunities in industry and in academic drug discovery.
Dr. Terry Kenakin is a Professor of Pharmacology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. He has been involved in drug discovery and development for 32 years: 7 at Burroughs-Welcome and 25 at GlaxoSmithKline. He is a classically trained pharmacologist and has specialized in applying the unique discipline of pharmacology to drug discovery in a number of drug discovery programs many of which he has led. Dr. Kenakin has written 10 books on the application of Pharmacology to drug discovery and is a Faculty of 1000 member. He brings a highly credible industry lens to the challenges of drug discovery.
