The Director invites faculty in the areas of drug and natural product research from the University of Toronto and Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network to apply for membership in the Centre for Collaborative Drug Research.
The goal of the CCDR is to facilitate interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaborative research among drug and natural product research scientists across the University and Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network with the aim of increasing research innovation, knowledge creation, dissemination and clinical translation in drug research. The Centre’s research foci are: ‘New Targets in Neuroscience’, ‘Pharmacogenomics & Drug Safety’, ‘Natural Products in Health & Disease’ and ‘New Approaches to Anti-infective Therapy’.
Faculty engaged in drug and natural product research – defined broadly as the development and study of novel drug targets, generation of novel compounds and libraries, screening platforms, biomarkers, animal models, pharmacological probes, neuroimaging probes, medicinal chemistry, pharmacogenetics, toxicology and drug safety, pharmacoepidemiology, drug approval, clinical optimization and drug utilization – as well tools and techniques that can be used to advance drug research – are encouraged to apply for membership.
Principal investigators from any Faculty, Department or Institute at the University of Toronto are welcome to join the CCDR.
There are two levels of membership:
Core faculty members: Principal Investigators from founding partner institutions whose research site is located in the Faculty of Medicine (St. George Campus and Tanz Centre), Faculty of Pharmacy (Leslie Dan Building) and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and who have a research program aimed at advancing drug and natural product research in the CCDR’s research foci. Principal investigators must hold a graduate appointment with the University of Toronto’s School of Graduate Studies.
Associate faculty members: Principal Investigators in other faculties, departments and research sites at the University of Toronto and the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network whose research is within the CCDR’s research foci.
